Frequently Asked Questions
What inspired Femmes of the Fog?
Dani considers herself part of a generation where women were told to compete with each other, not support one another. She’s all too used to how the music industry treats femmes, and now, after streaming on Twitch for years, all too used to how Twitch works for femmes. Femmes of the Fog was born out of frustration - out of a desire to work with other women and femmes, not against them.
What is a “Femme”?
When we say femme, we are referring to women and anyone femme presenting. Femme is an all-encompassing term inclusive to femme-presenting genderqueer and nonbinary individuals.
Why is a group exclusive to Femmes necessary?
Historically, femmes have been harassed, discriminated against, and cast aside in the gaming sphere. In the DBD community alone, 95% of the top streamers are men.
Every femme has a story. Every femme has dealt with misogyny while just trying to enjoy their hobby. We are exclusive to femmes to help propel each other’s voices, to help each other grow, and to offer each other friendship and comfort in a space where so often, we are undermined, belittled, and cast down. We are exclusive to femmes to give ourselves and others a safe space.
How often are applications accepted?
We accept applications on a rolling basis. Our recruitment team is also constantly looking for new creators to help complete our team.
